The Grinder Of Pars (Semi Crocked)
Played yesterday with CVG - no Fragger (he's joined FIL's society and he was at Wycombe heights lugging a tank of Oxygen around with him).
Most things in my game are coming together. The new 910 driver worked acceptably. Used it 9 times and hit 5 fairways with it. 3 not so good and 1 poor shots - definitely a poor swing on each occasion (trying too hard I think) but none of them cost me any shots so quite pleased. The 5 good ones were just that - 250 down the middle and you can't ask for much more than that in these conditions.
Hit 7 fairways from 12 and 7 GIR and only took 30 putts.
The chipping is still suspect though. First chip gets duffed, 2nd chip - stone dead. Its doing my head in!! Although I did chip-in for a par on the 1st!!
16 out, 18 back 34 total - could do better but acceptable.
And I really like this driver!!
As an aside, Fragger wanted to try a lower lofted hybrid so he got himself a Ping i15 17 degree off fleabay. Trouble is it has the Tour Stiff shaft in it and it's like a poker compared to his other clubs. So he dropped it round to me and I had a bash with it. Jeez, this thing goes a mile, pretty straight/slight draw and comes down softly. This might be finding it's way into the bag to replace the 5 wood that mostly goes left!!
