New 5 Wood - what loft

I absolutely LOVE hitting my 5 wood. I just seem to get on with it so well, very rarely have a poor shot either off the tee or on the deck and I can consistently hit it nice and straight. I love it so much the driver and 3 wood actually stay in the bag at the moment and I'm happy to sacrifice a little distance of landing on the short stuff.

Unfortunately because I love it so much it's seen better days and has started to wear out so I want to replace it... The thing is it was the club from my very first starter set (Wilson Deep Red) and I have discovered it has 18 degree of loft.

I quite like the look of the RBZ fairway woods, but what I am guessing as the 5 wood equivalent has lofts of 19 or 17. Can anyone give any advise as to what would make more sense to go for as a replacement loft, or perhaps offer up some alternatives where I can get 18 degrees.

Thanks

In my experience 5 woods are usually around 18 degrees of loft.
I use a 5 wood in stead of my 3 wood and my 5 wood is 18 degrees

go by the number 5 not the degrees of loft - CG distribution and other elements will all play their part in the launch angle achieved, and balls flight path (even down to the weight (light) or length (long) of the shaft increasing your clubhead speed increasing the backspin etc

then find one you like hitting, that gives you confidence etc

pure loft is not the relevant number

I have the perfect club for you! My TaylorMade V Steel 5W, 18' of loft. Absolutely love ripping it from the fairway or light rough, goes like a rocket. Learning to hit it better from the tee too, teeing it lower with orange castle tees.

Get one my friend! Only you're not having mine...

The adjustable route is an option if you want 18 exactly, they vary a little TM r11 is 19 degrees with +/- 1 deg, whereas the r11s is +/- 1.5 deg, but as already mentioned its only a number go have some fun trying some new shineys. :)
