Today, whilst playing a par 5, one of my partners was middle of the fairway 160 yards down towrds the green. Other partner hit his shot, heading towards the green, landed plum on top (on the full) of the first ball. Moved the one at rest into the rough, deflected the moving ball off into the rough on the other side. I've often seen this happen on greens, but never on a fairway before. We had a debate about the course of action, and determined the one at rest gets replaced, and it's tough for the guy who hit it as he must play it as it lies, as when this happens on a green.

Correct 19-5 says that the ball that is in motion must be played as it it lies and the ball at rest replaced

I would call it my lucky ball and play it with pride!

Hang on.....if it only went 160 on a par five I think I would call it my usless &%$%^(***&^^%%^^&&%^%^%&^^%&^ etc!
