2 Ranfurly castle - bridge of weir
3 Lochwinnoch - Lochwinnoch
4 Beith golf Club - Beith
5 Cochrane Castle - Johnstone

Would be nice to see some times I get the impression the local course are often forgotten .. by the media

1. Forfar
2. Edzell
3. Alyth
4. King James , Perth
5. Scotscraig, Tayport

All cracking tracks in there own right.

You really rate King James in Perth???
Played it once (36 holes) and found it incredibly boring, just a load of "up and downs"...

The question was "Name 5 courses near you that you would like to see featured" not which 5 do you rate highest.
I think King James is a lovely course and very interesting as it is the only inland island course in the UK and well worth a feature.

The five near me would be:-
1. Ladybank.
2. Downfield.
3. Rosemount.
4. Kings Course, Gleneagles.
5. Murrayshall/Lynedoch.

Appreciate that, it was just Steves comment that he found King James to be "cracking". I was just stating that I personally found it a bit boring that's all.
Apologies

It depends what you mean featured. If you mean reviewed in the mag as ultimate golfing destinations to play then mine are faily obvious. Wentworth, Sunningdale, Swinley Forest, Berkshire and Walton Heath

If you mean destinations that are worth playing and accessible and affordable then its different. I'd go Maidenhead (always great greens), Downshire (one of the better pay and plays around), Camberley Heath (decent track and a typical heathland course) Wimbledon Common (grew up there so lots of memories - short but not easy to rip apart) and finally Royal Ascot (home sweet home with a great bunch of members and a 19th thats more like a friendly local than a clubhouse and a course that will only get better as it matures)

Blimey, you lot are all showing off.

I can't see that there are any courses near me worth the ink and brow beating of a course reviewer.

Let me see......(finger tapping)......um......gone for beer.....uh ha......no......

Not one.

Odd that considering a course not far from me is advertising itself as in the WORLD'S TOP 5 GOLF DESTINATIONS

Idiots, who do they think they are. :D :D

By your list of courses I assume that you live quite near me. I am a mamber at Ranfurly Castle, so if your ever wanting a game just PM me.

Ps Its "Old Course Ranfulry" not Old Ranfurly Castle ;).

1 - Alwoodley
2 - Moortown
3 - Sandmoor
4 - Cobble Hall (Leeds golf club)
5 - Headingley

All in North Leeds within 5 miles of me.
Oi, you stoll my list...

So, extending Parmos 5 miles radius by another seven or so I guess I'll have to say:

Garforth
Low Laithes
Leeds Golf Centre, Wike Ridge
Rounday Park
Temple Newsham (either course)

5 near me would be:

1) West Lothian Golf Club

2) Falkirk "Carmuirs" Golf Club

3) Glenbervie Golf Club

4) Kingsfield (9 hole - but worth a mention)

5) Linlithgow Golf Club

Good courses, but I would have included Harburn.
