Morning all. Could any of you kind fellas give me any feedback on my swing? Positive, negative, any advice will be taken on board.

Only managed to get a couple of swings each with a 7 & 8 iron, phone died before i could get the driver/3 wood/hybrid out.

I haven't played very much at all recently due to a hand injury so i'm quite rusty.....(get the excuses in early....)

My bad shot is usually a slice (mostly with the driver) & fatting my irons. I do sometimes take a divot the depth of a swimming pool. I have never had a lesson, the only teaching i have received was off my old man when i was a nipper. I currently play off 16. Do you worse lads.....

Well, what a good swing :D
lots of good positions through the swing there.
Two small observations if I may.
At address, you seem to have a little too much weight in your toes. Do you ever lose your balance at the end of the swing?
And secondly, in the backswing it looks as if you right leg straightens, locking out your right knee. Do you feel that?
If you do post some more videos of your swing, it would be a big help if you could do it through youtube, ta.
But overall, a very good looking swing. Enjoy it :D

Hello Bob,cheers for your feedback mate.

I do lose my balance at the end of a swing sometimes but i put that down to trying to knock the skin off the ball.

With regards to the right leg,i have never noticed it but looking at the vid, you're right,it looks a bit stiff.

Any suggestions?

Hiya...

Slicing and fatting huh? I'd get a pro to take a look at your grip to start with. It looks like you may have a grip that is too strong (too much round the right hand side of the grip)

This position is unusual as the club generally points more skywards.. at approx 90° instead of 45°, you probably won't be releasing the club properly if you're starting from that position.

just my 2 cents,
hope it helps...

Good swing

One observation. As someone as sugested your right leg locks out as you take the club to the top of the backswing, thsi also means that your hips have tilted rather than turning.
The legs and hips should resist the turning of the top half of the body.
You lower half does not do this and will certainly contribute to the poor shots that you have said you hit.

Try an hits some balls with your feet and knees locked together, this sounds really easy to do - you will find it tough!! This will develop your ability to rotate your lower body, not tilt it.

If you can then move your legs apart and feel the same resistance with the lower half that you did with your feet/knees together it will improve your strike and direction

Let me know how you get on

Please also take a look at my post on practice. Not a great idea to scrape and hit. You are not practicing like you play and you will find it tremendously difficult to take your range game to the golf course. Change club and target after EVERY shot. It is hard to do but will improve your on course play.
