As above, lovely tempo.

Comes over the top a little on the way back down?? Is your stock shot a little pull, cut??

Thanks for the comments guys.

I do mostly hit a bit of a pull. Some other folk at my club have mentioned that I come over the top a bit so that sounds like a good starting point for a bit of pre-season practice.

Are there any good drills to try and sort this.

Good swing sponge.
As has been mentioned its a little out to in but not too bad.
2 things I spotted.
on the view from behind, you can clearly see your right leg straightening on your backswing. Try keeping the right knee flexed and turn against it.
And secondly, especially on the view from behind again, even though others have praised your tempo, is that the real swing? It almost looks like you're slowing down into the ball instead of fizzing through it.
It may be a pose for the camera and you normally swing faster. If that is your real tempo, I'd like to see a bit more "attitude" through impact.
As for curing the over the top swing, have you heard of the 3 ball drill?

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the tips.

I wasn't trying to pose for the camera but maybe did without realising. I haven't heard about the 3 ball drill but it sounds interesting.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the tips.

My version of the 3 ball drill is a bit safer.
I use 2 sponges instead of balls, much softer.
Place a sponge about 8-10in behind the ball and a little on the outside. Place your ball as normal and the other sponge the same distance in front of the ball a little on the inside.
When you look from behind, all 3 should be on a straight line of your normal out to in swing path.
Now try and hit the ball without hitting the sponges.
If you swing out to in, you'll hit one or both.
I hope that makes sense.

Thanks Bob, I'll give that a try this weekend.

If you dont want to use sponges, you can the use the head covers off your woods :)

I don't think it has been mentioned yet, but I would knock the ball back a bit in your stance, looking at the first clip you are hitting a short iron with the ball almost on your front foot. I think this will also help keep you down the line.
Apart form that a really good swing you should be playing of less than 5.

Thanks for the diagram Bob, that drill is just what I am looking for, nice and simple with instant feedback if you do it wrong. I have never been one for getting too complicated when comes to the golf swing.

Thanks to everyone else for the comments too, I will certainly give them a try.

Cheers

That would be my only observation too but otherwise a very nice swing.
But what do I know?
I'm a knob
;)

I think you are being a bit hard on yourself Smiffy. I have read some of your other posts are you are far from being a knob. Having said that I have only been a forummer for a month so others may have a different idea. :)
