i posted below about how to get out of my years contract at my club. above are examples of just 3 greens

I'm sure you could get them under the trades description act, not much green to be seen there.

Worst I've seen at this time of year by a mile.

holy holes batman, that is appalling, whats the course and whats the reason given by the committee for such atrocious greens (that you pay for)

i had a great round today too. hit 9 greens in reg but with the greens the way they where i was 3 and 4 putting. give up in the end. i just added two to my score card when i got to the green

the club is seedy mill lichfield. they wont turn the sprinklers on as they are on a meter. the greens only see water when it rains.

Holy moly!!!

Our greens are suffering with some mould at themoment and our greenskeeper isn't doing his reputation much good with his attempts to fix it. It's got so bad we had the STRI In last week to help him out (god knows how much that is costing us)

However, the OPs greens make ours look like Augusta!

strong letter to the committee- put at the bottom that you have copied in the EGU and PGA- stating the course isn't fit for normal golf due to the self imposed state of the greens and as they have taken a policy decision NOT to water the greens then you respectfully ask them to return any monies due for the remainder of the contract and terminate your membership citing the course is not 'fit for purpose'
good luck and let us know how you get on

What do the greenkeepers say about? Have they been affected by a disease of some sort, just can't see how they could be so bare considering they amount of rain we have had throughout the summer months.

I know the guys at my place would be embaressed if
their greens got anywhere near as bad as that.

they green keepers dont seem to give a dam. there is no infection in the grass just dry and cracked. i have never seen a sprinker switched on at my club. i'm fuming!

Ours greens looked like that about a year ago - they did a load of work and top layer so much sand that it was like putting on a beach!

Mind you since our green fees are less than £200 for a whole year I don't think we can complain too much. Now, if they could just sort out the bunker drainage and maybe put some sand in them....

Hovis is that pictures of a cricket pitch ? if our greens got that bad the green keeper would get lynched. We got an email yesterday explaining how fast the greens were on the stimp meter and what the grass composition is ,an interesting read to be honest.

Our greens are like corrugated iron and Balckpool beach where they are doing this remedial work. To be honest I don't think the greenkeeper is up to it but the club seem reluctant to do anything about it and prefer to get STRI in at the drop of a hat to tell them what to do and it must be costing a fortune. If the fees go up by much next year I'm off
