I'm not sure how many followers of MotoGP there are on this forum but it's got off to at cracking start this year. A great start to the season in Qatar was followed by an unbelievable catalogue of events in Argentina.

Much controversy with issues on the start line, Marc Marquez being penalised THREE TIMES in the race and taking off Valentino Rossi and culminating in a great win for Cal Crutchlow that sees a British rider leading the World Championship for the first time since Barry Sheene.

I've always been a big fan of Cal and am delighted to see him doing so well but I think the ramifications of the Marquez/Rossi incident rumbling on through the season.

For me it knocks Formula 1 as a spectacle into a cocked hat.

I can't wait till the next race. :D:clap:

If Marquez hadn't stalled it on the grid I reckon we'd have been 'treated' to watching him riding off into the sunset...

However, great result for Cal...
Though I do worry when he gets into great positions he still has the propensity to throw it down the road...

And, missing Jules in commentary...

Who's got the TV rights this year please, I need to catch up.

Cancel that, got Moto GP, now need to find the BSB and the speedway GP.

Rossi and Marquez have been niggling each other for a while now. No love lost between those two.

The latest incident wasn't niggling, it was stupidity on the part of Marquez.

He is a truly brilliant rider but is in danger of thinking he is bigger than the sport.

Not a good idea in something as dangerous as MotoĢP.

Rossi is no angel in the year when he got rattled by Marquez and took him out at a corner but Marquez on Sunday was just reckless IMHO. He bullies his way past and I think crossed the line on a few occasions. Not just with Rossi but with his manoeuvre on Aleix Espargaro and some of the moves I saw him pull during Free Practice.

I agree Cal last year certainly had a propensity for dropping the bike but I'm hoping this year he has more confidence in the feel of the front end and will stay on as he may not be one of the Aliens but he's certainly a top 6 contender.

Just wish Cal had not started to speak as if English was his second language.

Fallen into the Steve McLaren trap!

Cov lads don't sound like that Cal.

Marquez was at his most arrogant at the start.

Every young rider when first coming into Moto3 knows that if you stall your bike on the line then it's pit-lane start.

Poor behaviour for a multi World Champion to think that the rules don't apply to him.

Love to watch him race but he's starting to overstep the mark.

Cal's worked with overseas teams now for a long time. Specifically in MotoGP French and Italian. I guess he's got used to speaking in a more structured, simplified English to allow his mechanics and the International Press to understand him better.
It does sound odd though. Probably when he's at home he doesn't sound like that at all.
It's like Rory. He's developed a real Mid-Atlantic accent.
