My ageing Rovik trolley packed in recently on an away outing. Felt I had to buy a replacement in the proshop. Only one they had was a Motocaddy QB2.
At first this seemed fine, but quite soon after use I noticed a problem. The trolley has a design feature that the top of the golf bag sits on a pillar that is designed to move. If the top straps are not exactly perpendicular with the pillar, the pillar is dragged down quite quickly once the trolley is in motion, which not only makes club retrieval difficult, but also damages the golf bag. By moving the straps to the top of the bag, the movement of the pillar is lessened somewhat, but it still rides down after a while. If the golf bag has a perfectly square top, it probably would not be a problem, but my Hippo bag has a 'cutaway' top, like many bags, so the trolley is not really fit for purpose.
I contacted them, and they were going to send out a box to return the unit for testing, but I am 100% sure that the trolley is not faulty, just a very poor design.
I wont be buying any more Motocaddy product.

(Tried uploading pictures, but they are all too large).

Thanks. I have the original Cube and like it;was tempted by this due to smaller size but now not so sure. Do you think the same problem would be an issue if you’re using a Motocaddy bag so it clicks into the Easilock slots?

I honestly dont think that would help. My bag is secure at the bottom. It is the top support pillar where the problem lies.

Did you ever get this resolved. I have the same issue with the QB2 and multiple bags tried. Motocaddy’s response to me was that they don’t guarantee the trolley works with anyone’s bag but their own.

I didn't even send the trolley back, as I came to the conclusion it is a design fault, not an individual unit fault. Your correspondence would confirm this. I am just taking the hit, and I am using the trolley at the moment, but will bin it when I change my bag, probably at the end of this season. I would not want my new bag damaged like this one. I dont believe that a Motocaddy bag would behave any differently. Yes, the Motocaddy bag is secured fully at the base, but the problem is at the top end of the bag. The supporting pillar of the trolley will still ride down the bag through movement and vibration. It is just a poorly designed bit of kit, and I would urge all forum members not to buy a Motocaddy QB2.

Going to test it with another bag tomorrow but have been offered a refund on the trolley or the bag (if I want to risk a Motocaddy bag).

What bag did you have that isn’t working with it out of interest?

Like you say the design is basically a joke.
