Mission Accomplished

Wow! Well done, many congrats on making single figures after all that time grinding it out, must feel like heaven. What a great finish to the year.

It's been a long road JustOne but I'm not finished yet. Not sure I'll be catching Imurg anytime soon but there's drfinately another shot or two in me.

I really can't wait for next year now

Nice one matey. We won't talk about my score !!

Go on Bash - lets !

Mike, the problem comes from knowing where the extra shots come from. You hole out pretty well as I think you proved on Saturday and the short game is usually pretty tight (frozen greens excepted). The driving is rarely an issue and if you can get the new fade to become reliable that only leaves GIR. You are never a million miles away and the short game does save you when you do miss a lot of the time. I don't really see a major flaw in any facet that is letting you down. I know we can all do better but I bet your FIR and number of putts in particular are pretty good. I guess I need to aim for 14 then to offset your gain

Well done - good going. I've always believed anyone in single figures is a good golfer!

I'm another one who fell short this year - 9.7 :(. No counting comps up here since early November; I played to 10 in the last two comps - close but no cigar.

In theory I should make it next year but seems a bit unambitious to just make single figures my goal....

My short game is definately where the improvement lies Homer, I'm not bad but not good enough and I could do with some work on my long putting.

As for frozen greens, I learned a lot from trying to chip on them on Saturday so yesterday I employed a new weapon - the 22 degree hybrid - it was deadly. Golf in such conditions is a lot about imagination and improvisation and I like to think I did it quite well.

You'll get there no problem from 9.7, just a matter of time.

So you were listening to my advice about changing strategy on Saturday then. Didn't quite have the hybrid in mind, more the 7 iron but clearly it worked. Great play mate and you have deserved it after a pretty good last three months. Here's to 2012, new bats and a quest for Cat 1

Just beware Hawkeye, I got down to 9 at the end of last season, and this year has been a mare, and am back to 11.:( Hopefully you will not go the same way, but just when you think you have got the game sussed, it comes back and bites you in the proverbials.;)
