Me and Gary in Derry with a score of 104 in our Russian stableford today, which is the highest score I've seen posted playing it, but only been playing it in the last year or so, so not guaranteed a win.

He said he was going to post the card, but maybe he's shy.

16 points on one hole, 2 x 12 pointers, and 2 x blobs also. Gazza put it in from 85 yards for an eagle on 17, with a tightly tucked in pin, to boot.

1st prize is 2 bottles of greygoose, 2nd is 2 bottles of smirnoff iirc

Will it be enough?

Not only did I bag an eagle, big pete sinks 20 footer for birdie on same hole.

I also managed to 3 putt the last and 4 putt the 5th :o

Two in a team.

Multiply your two points score on the hole.

Eg. 2 * 2 = 4

Or what tends to ruin a card

3 * 0 = 0

Makes for some epic games in a four ball. can catch up within the space of a hole or two.

Nice card. Gaz and Me should be in with a chance.;)

Never played that format, but can imagine a few blobs if I did.:(

must say its not a format i have ever come across ,but i like the cut of its jib. i think i will be putting forward the idea to my usual pp`s when im back playing.

oh and your score looks pretty dam good to me.

I only discovered it about a year ago, played it loads of times since. You can play it as a pairs game in a fourball, or if there are twenty odd of you.

Its good for banter and a laugh, especially when one partner has 4 points in the bag, and his mate has a dicy 3 footer to put one point alongside it, otherwise the blob makes it 0 x 4 = 0. We play it without gimmees.

It can swing quite quickly too, you can be 4 points behind and within 2-3 holes easily be 10-12 ahead.

Good shooting and hope it wins although not sure you scallywags need anymore booze this Christmas do you?

I havent tried greygoose yet, so would be nice.

We do a Multiplier format a my old club as part of a pairs Winter OOM.
Is Russian SFord a recognised name of it in general?
It is fun, makes you sweat on the 1 pointers for sure!

Thats what I first heard it called (on here), so have called it that since.

I presume it's meant like Russian roulette.

As I'm on the handicap committee, I bought the prizes, as it's normally just a bottle sweep. I thought Vodka would be apt.

Greygoose for the winning pair, smirnoff for 2nd place.

Vodka martinis at our New years eve party tomorrow, Gaz.

The greygoose, as well.;)

Well played boys.. It may have been a novelty game but that would make it ideal for you 2..... :D

Congrats on the win.. I'm struggling to think of 2 more consistent golfers...

Well played boys that's great shooting.

You guys ever played a Devil's Stableford?

6 holes better ball
6 holes add scores together
6 holes multiplying like a Russian stableford

You can either play it as a 6,6,6 format or to make it extra frustrating play it as a waltz

Ace format and does lead to some great on course banter :)
