Some of you probably have the antivirus software from McAFee on your PCs and phones etc

Be aware there are spurious emails coming out asking for subscription payments based on an alledged 'Auto-renewal' - do nt respond or use the telephone number quoted in the email.

McAFee is aware of the issue so it worth reporting to them iif you get any email supposedly from the company. NB all genuine emails from the company will be from "*****@mcafee.com.

Just checked my Gmail (auto) spam folder and noticed a number of these. Indeed, they appear to be classic phishing ones - after Card info.

Anyone who notices such requests on their main email should either change to a better provider (one that filters such messages into a dedicate Spam folder), in spite of the hassle involved, or (far simpler) encourage their provider to automatically do so.

Is it a particular problem with '.edu' type sites? Ive seen this sort of thing before and, in those cases, it's been down to 'poor practice' by Network Management!
