Matchplay (Summer Foresomes)

Does anyone know the correct ruling on this:
I know someone who played a match tonight,These lads had to give 15 shots,the match was all level after 18 holes,and went back down the 1st (Index 5) the group I know parred this hole with a (4,the other group made a 5 (hole halved) onto the 2nd hole (Index 9) the group I know made par with a (3) the other group also made a 3 but the the shot net birdie,and therefore won the match,
Is this correct or do they only have the 15 shots on the first 18 holes.

I believe it to be correct shots are given on the stroke holes regardless of how many times they are played.

Strokes are given/received on extra holes exactly as in the first 18.
