Machrihanish Dunes

Day two of the Kintyre trip, a visit to the more recently built Machrihanish Dunes. Some stunning holes on the course, maybe the views were not as good as the ones the day before..... Tricky greens, very similar to the Castle Course at St Andrews, unsurprising since the courses were both designed by the same chap. Found this course a tough slog to carry on, a lot of walking between holes, especially on the back 9, but enjoyed the round, largely due to me shooting +11 despite being dead on my feet coming in.

You see the sea from less holes at Machrihanish than you do at the Dunes. Better test, better views.

I didn’t say less views, I said they maybe weren’t as good….. which is what I felt. I still enjoyed the course, despite the long walks between holes, and shot a very good round for me.
