Glad you liked it Aztec and sounds like a good deal. I've never understood how much snobbery there is about other golf courses. People seem to delight in having a pop. I can enjoy any course if the company is right.

A very good point. Where I play isn't an amazing course. It's OK and I quite enjoy playing it but under no delusion that it is a top 100 (1,000!?) course.

Good bunch of lads (and ladies) there though. I'm giving up a lot of my time to play golf (that I don't have much of) and I'd sooner enjoy the round with good folk than play a blinding course with some idiots who think they're the dog's danglies for being a member there.

Of course both would be perfect

For the record, I didn't get the impression of any snobbishness from your posts, just honest opinions about the golf course.

From what you've said, walking round, I could see some of where you were coming from, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be after reading your post!

Even the pro agreed it was terrible, so I guess that's saying something. Nice to see them putting so much money into it though.

Some of the holes on the front 9 were uninspiring, but I'll probably end up playing the back 9 most mornings before work as I can sneak on early when no one is about to give me a clear run. Cardiac Hill should keep me fit and I really enjoyed some of the holes up on the back 9, if nothing else, some of the views were pretty cool.

I can't really sniff at £300 a year, especially as I'll at least be playing the equivalent of 36 holes a week (sometimes more), so it's going to cost me less than a £5er a week to be a member.
