Anyone played it? I did a search in the review section, but come up no results.

4 of us just booked in the team open next Sunday at £22.50 each. Got the second to last booking.

Pictures look great of the course, but sometimes spruce up even the more basic courses.

On the 4th you can drive off in Wales and putt in England!!!

played it a many times....absolutely fantastic course (Ian Woosnam's old course). The views are also great, you can see 7 counties from the 12th tee. Some lovely holes although it's a bit hilly in places. The course is always in good condition. The course is on top of a mountain though so if the weather's bad it can get a little rough.I would also highly recommend LLangollen & Oswestry which are not far away. Enjoy your day.
PS. The food is also good.

Gaz is right, it's a really good course.

Hard to explain and after playing the 1st you might be worried!! (Sorry... :o)

I particularly like the 4th (the one over the border), if you can hook the ball, it's hilarious....slicer's better go with rescue at most.

There are 3 par 3s in the first 6 holes, but don't let that put you off. The 7th/8th/9th are FABULOUS golf holes.

The 10th looks intimidating, but just hit the club for the distance. The 11th is fun. 12/13/14 EXCELLENT. 15th (bomb hole) is unique (just you wait!). 16th horrible, 17th very good and last hole also good.

One of my all-time favourite courses. 3 GOLD STANDARD par 5s.

Anything else, let me know. :D

Thanks, a buggy has also been booked as one of my mates has trouble walking hilly courses, and I,m a puff.

Played Vale of Llangollen a few times, but not Oswestry, I'll look out for it in future.

I'm a sucker for scenic courses, so looks like I wont be disappointed. £22.50 each, were normally £45 on a weekend,is also a bonus.8.10 tee time so will have to leave about 6.30 is the only downside.

Oswestry is beautiful, but zzzzzzzzzzzz. Sorry boys, but it's true. :D
Mile End is the poor relation, but personally I prefer it.

Llanymanech is a great course for a days golf. A good mixture of tough holes, fun holes and the 16th as someone has already alluded to. Not often to get to tee off in one country and hole out in another.

They have some great values am-ams throught the year.

Just be careful not to step off the back of the 12h tee as it's a 200 ft sheer drop. Played there once and there was a wreath for a climber who hadn't made it to the top the previous week.

Being a member at Llangollen we have a reciprocal agreement with Llanymynech which I've played a few times and would thoroughly recommend it. Some amazing scenary but you'll be glad you booked the buggy by the end of the round, enjoy.
