With losses of over £90m over the last 2 years against a max loss of around £35.4m, that was entirely predictable.

Plenty of exclusions, such as Stadium redevelopment costs and Youth development, but certainly some numbers need to be found from the 'commercial' deals - of which there were plenty and the Club seems confident. Suarez's sale was outside the reporting period (31/5) but will almost certainly help next years figures - cost of players bought are amortized over contract length.

The FFP is such a farce and the big clubs will always find a way to get around it.

It may not be biting yet, but it certainly stung City and PSG, who both tried to 'work around it' (and may suffer more than the relatively small amount they have if they don't comply over the next 2 years) and it is arguably more stringent than last year - total loss hasn't changed but is now over 3 years.

It will get tougher for 'rebuilding clubs', that are not already profitable, over the next few years too, as the allowable loss reduces. But a major aim of FFP is to put a lid on escalating, excessive expenditure!

Of course, that only covers UEFA comps. The EPL allowable losses are less stringent - effectively £35m per season over 3 years.
