Live music - did you go, do you still?

Used to go to anything when I was a student (Bloc Party, We Are Scientists, indie sort of music) but now I only see bands that I absolutely adore like The Gaslight Anthem and The National.

have seen too many to mention, been to well over 1000 gigs since paying £3 to see Elton John in 1973. Still go to quite a few, at the moment I have tickets for Wishbone Ash, Whitesnake, Journey & Thunder, T'Pau, Serpentine, FM and a couple of tribute bands.

Another new topic Bluewolf ;)

Yes been to loads when in the forces around the world and watched some crackers. Kiss Live with Iron Maiden as their warm up in Hanover, Earth Wind & Fire in Berlin, amazing stage show, Genisis, Loads in Coventry including David Bowie and especially Specials, Bad Manners, Selector and most recently they did some gigs at Warwick Castle (Route of Kings Tour) and I saw UB40, Rod Stewart and Van Morrison.

Lucky enough to have seen pretty much everyone I want to see apart from Floyd, U2 and Bowie. Seen Aussiefloyd and Britfloyd a few times.....almost as good as the real thing....but not the real thing.

Seen Genesis, Led Zep, Stones, Dylan, The Who, Springsteen, Rush, Queen, Dire Straits, Stranglers, AC/DC, Elton John, most of the 70/80's heavy metal bands, Simple Minds. Most underated performer I've seen...Toyah Wilcox, fantastic on stage.

OOO Loads of bands, Motorhead, Saxon, Thin Lizzy, Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac, 10CC, Elton John, Pink Floyd, Rush, Blue Oyster Cult, Status Quo, Black Sabbath, Siouxie & The Banshees, Tom Robinson Band, ZZ Top, Iron maiden, Boston.U2, Blackfoot,Queen,ACDC,David Bowie, Simply Red. Judy Tzuke, Michael Schenker Group, Scorpions, and thats what comes off the top of my head, plus Monsters of Rock plus a couple of Knebworths

Happy Days

Simply Red???? Shame on you Fragger ;-) :-). I haven't been to a gig in years. Music is not my thing but the wife and I are oof to see Muse in May. Not sure what to expect as I don't know any of their songs.

Been to loads over the years, most at the much loved and missed Glasgow Apollo, starting with the Status Quo gig they recorded for the "Quo Live" album in 1976. Also seen:
The Who ( with Moonie on drums )
Thin Lizzy
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Queen
AC/DC ( Bon Scott on vocals)
Whitesnake
Blue Oyster Cult
Eric Clapton
U2
Robert Plant
Marillion
The Eagles
Last gig was The Stones in 2006

I saw Tony Christie at the Wickerman one year (they always have a golden oldie on) - great voice but he had all the stage presence and charisma of an in-growing toe nail

Was trying to convince my young daughter to come and see Girls Aloud with me in a couple of weeks. But she's not interested and just wants to go and see One Direction. Which just goes to prove that, along with golfers, kids today have no taste.

I may go on my own, but I fear coming across a bit 'Uncle Nobby'.

I'd give it a miss mate TBH

I lived near the Reading festival site, and went to most of the concerts held there from the mid 70's to early 80's. Last band I think I saw there was the Kinks.

Was a big fan of Graham Parker and the Rumour. Great live band. Also loved seeing the Deep Purple breakaway bands, Gillian, Whitesnake, Rainbow.

Robbie Williams is at Hamdump again this year, I have told the wife I will source her tickets but am flatly refusing to go. Last time he was there I got her tickets and then begged her to take a friend, but no, she insisted I go, at least Basement Jaxx were good.

Got my own back though, at a festival and waiting for the Zutons to come on, told the wife I just wanted to go and catch 10 minutes of Bad Manners on another stage and would come back and meet her. Didn't, Bad Manners were too good to leave

I've got a losd of GP and the R albums. Second only to Costello in my book. Wish I'd seen them live. He still tours America.
