Interested to hear from anyone who’s done this. @GreiginFife I’m looking at you as the usual car guy.

I’ve owned my 2016 VW Golf R from new.
10 years of my cohabitee using it as her daily driver have left it with 4 scuffed alloys, a tiny dent on one of the door swage lines, a very light 6” x 12” scuff on another door and the usual little paint chips on the bonnet and front bumper.
I have been quoted £840 inc VAT.
Does that seem reasonable? I have no clue.

Also £840 seems pretty reasonable.

We had a scrape on the rear door and handle of our Kodiaq as the wife took the turn into our drive a bit sharpish one day and caught it on the horrible pebble dash wall we have running up the drive.

That was £600ish CASH/mates rates for repair and re-spray at the local body shop where my dad's old place of work (Lexus) used to get all their body work done for the part ex cars etc.

This isn’t a respray. All done on the drive at home.

I don't think I've ever seen a Red Golf R - it's almost Garibaldi Red ;)

Feel free to post more photos of the actual car and interior....really class cars.
For reasons obvious to you and me I always like a red car.
Since the days of the original Golf GTi I’ve thought that a sporty golf just looks wrong in any colour other than red, white or black.

V good price. Bite their hand off.

If it's not a respray and more of a "chipsaway" kind of repair then maybe a little pricey but then you have to factor them coming to you as well.

Average alloy repair is probably about £80 per wheel, although size can affect that (I had a 19" refurbed for £80 but a 21" was £110).

As for the scrapes, 6" x 12" is a sizeable scuff. Although the word scuff (rather than scratch) makes me think it could be cut and polished out. If it's through the base coat then not sure I'd be getting a "driveway repair" done on it as it would probably need properly blended at that coverage.

The small dent on the door, at 10 years old I probably wouldn't even bother with it, same with stone chips unless there's hundreds of them.

Yeah. They’ve quoted £100 per wheel (19s).
The scuff is light. Barely noticeable except at the right angle.
The door dent actually bothers me more than the alloys, so that’s non-negotiable.
It’s 10 years old but has only done 50k miles and, other than the minor body stuff, is tip top. Just want to enjoy it in good nick for one last summer then I’ll probably move it on in favour of a utilitarian dog vehicle.
It’s an unmodified Mk7 Golf R so an enthusiast favourite so I reckon it’s probably worth spending a few hundred to make it top tier saleable.

Fair enough, most of the cost will be in repairing that dent then as it will need a build up and blend done on it. They'll probably just buff out the scuff if it's not right through the clear. They also know how to charge for stonechip repairs (which are actually really easy to DIY).

Tbh, I'd be more worried about the chunk out of the tyre sidewall.

I'll give you a Skoda Rapid (14 plate) and pack of scampi fries...nay TWO packs of scampi fries.

It’s flown through 2 MOTs since the aforementioned cohabitee did that the day after the tyre was fitted.
