I've been on an enforced layoff to allow my damaged knee time to repair itself fully. I've not played since the GM centenary day at Dalmahoy so it's been a long summer :(

However, yesterdays visit to the physio has brought new hope, I've got a couple of weeks of some new exercises and then I can start to slowly get back into my golf :D

With a bit of luck I'll be back on the course in early September.

So anyone who thinks that they can play through an injury, or an injury isn't too bad, don't be as daft as I was. I only made things worse. I should have heeded proper advice months ago and I'd be off 14 by now ;)

Having lost some 7 yrs of the game due to my knee I know what youre going through, rushed back too early many times and never ever a wise decision, best of luck

Hope you're out striding the fairways asap, David. Meantime, rest up and have happy thoughts about the golf to come.

Mind you, it has fecked up Tiger's game so.......

;) ;)

Thats great news, fingers crossed it all goes to plan... I dont know what I would do if I could not play golf, I would not be nice to be around I dont think!!

Well, last night I swung my first golf club in over 10 weeks :D

A very gentle, tentative swing with a wedge, just to see how the knee was progressing. My initial apprehension about moving my weight onto my right hand side was soon passed and I was able to swing and turn quite easily in the end. I'll keep up the exercises for a while yet, but they do seem to have done the trick.

I've got the physio on Monday and hopefully I'll get the green light from her at this time. Looking forward to getting back into my golf. It's been a long summer without it. All being well, I can gradually build up and I'll certainly be back to full golfing fitness in time for Goswick :D
