I have never had a golf lesson in my life. I play of 10 and have had two wins in my two years of joining a golf club. I wish I had lessons when I started then I would be a pro now! Probably!
Just watched videos and read on how to hit the ball.
Do what is needed to get small ball in small hole and have fun doing so. This is golf.

That's the beauty of golf!
There is no right or wrong way and the score card tells the story but shows no pictures it's how many not how! :lol:
If your happy and enjoying it great if not and you want improve get some lessons each to their own.

Not really goals as such but just to enjoy getting to proper single figures and winning a few comps by playing good.
