Money List Winner
Been putting this way for the best part of 8 months.
The reason I changed last season was a because of a confidence problem over anything from 12 feet in.
I was either hitting the ball 6ft past or leaving it 4 2ft short and subsequently missing the return effort.
It felt strange at firstas I'm right handed but even though it's 8 months on I've never really felt like it was ever going to become comfortable.
It has thought me how to putt with a firm left wrist and I suppose I've putted very well for the most part with it. I've probably holes some of the best putts I've ever holes with it But I'll never know if I could have holed them with a normal grip. All I can say I that to stop me focusing so much on technique I started ignoring the ball at set up and started looking at a spot about 4" in front of my ball and started concentrating on rolling my ball over that spot on the line... it's a good thing for anyone that's getting wrapped up in technique rather than doing what comes natural.
But . There's always a but.... I'm struggling with it now. I can't seem to get comfortable over the ball with any posture at all with the grip until I go back to my original setup with a conventional grip.
I would have said before changing that it was a bout of the yips that I had. And it worked wonders.
Anyone have a similar situation where they've went back to their original grip after so long and how has it been...
