am i the only person who thinks lee westwood chokes when it really counts ? no doubt he is a top pro but he wont ever win a major !!

Slightly controversial first post but You've sort of got a point. He's been in contention a few times now and needs to nail one soon if he's ever going to. If he doesn't he may turn into a Garcia - incredibly talented but seemingly unable to get the biggest job done.

I normally say what i think ! got to agree that garcia should have won a major as well but same as westwood its putting in the heat of battle { we all know how that is }

I think if he wins one, he'll win 3. He just needs 4 good putting rounds, he just seems to be so inconsistent. I remember Phil Mickleson was the same before he won a major.

I think we have got to reevaluate our obsession with winning majors.We all too easily start to dismiss golfers because they don't have a major victory. Monty is a classic example 8 times order of merit winner, that in itself is a massive achievement but because he hasn't won a major he is scorned by the golfing press and is even questioned as to his ability to captain a Ryder cup side. I hope Lee does go on to win a major, however if he doesn't he still is one heck of a good golfer with a very successful career, let's not get on the back of another one of our great golfers, it'll soon be Rory's turn if he doesn't come up with a major and he is the current darling of GB & Ire golf.
I think Lee will win one and deservedly so. He's getting into the mix regularly now and learning what he needs to come through. I thought he was unlucky not to get in the US open playoff last year and has been close since. He's -1 at the moment and so in a decent position in this.

Lee is one of the most steady golfers in the game and as a Yorkshireman I know he has majors coming.
Also if you class Lee like that then Garcia is a journeyman compared to Lee.

I am not sure that he ill never win a major but he did choke at this years open i dont care if you think you have to make it you dont race it 10 feet by and then miss the one back

As a fellow choker, I can recognise one when I see one. He will never win a major. Ever. At all. Not one.
