First day back after the Chrimbo break. That can only mean one thing..the dreaded diet. HID has insisted upon me losing some pork wether I like it or not, so I've had 1 bowl of weetabix, 1 banana, apple and satsuma and the prospect of another bowl of cereal for my tea. I am Lee Marvin, I could chew my own foot off. I bloody hate January.Anyone else in the same boat?

I put on 4lbs over the Christmas period, but as I lost 6lbs from the beginning of Dec to Christmas I'm still 2lbs better off.

Lost nearly 3 stone in 2010.

Not helping, am I!?

Nope.

Today I have eaten a chicken and dolcelatte sandwich, a chicken and chilli cheddar sandwhich, a big bag of beef hula hoops, a packet of mints (actually, make that 2 packets), half a big toblerone, some jelly beans, some mini rolos, and some licorice toffees.

Going home to Bef strog in the slow cooker, with more sprouts (mmmm, I like sprouts), and some rice and broccoli.

Probably washed down with a couple of cold beers and some red.

Might attack the remains of the cheese board later too. Still got loads of stilton, chilli cheddar, an unopened brie (very ripe, stinks the fridge out), and some hard cheese I don't recognise. Now, toast or biscuits with t.he cheese?

I can honestly say I've never weighed myself since I stopped gliding over 30 years ago. Why are we so fascinated by adding/losing a few pounds? If you feel overweight and your trousers are tight, cut down on your intake and exercise a bit more.
My ex wife was obsessed with her weight, weighing herself at least twice a day, was constantly on a diet and very often ill. Most people take months to put on a few pounds yet want to lose it overnight. Your body adds fat in the winter to store energy and warmth and will lose it when the warmer weather comes in. Live with it.

So she should also let you play golf more often to help the diet?:p

I am not drinking during January and will run with the dogs a couple of mornings a week plus swim 64 lengths at least one night a week.

Always do this in January to get back to my fighting weight.

I've had the flu since boxing day, and I still don't have much of an appetite. Consequently, I've lost about half a stone :D

I got it about a week before xmas and didn't feel better till new years eve. I lost just over a stone in weight. Does that save me from the diet, hell no.
"Now that you've managed to loose that weight you should try and keep it off!"
I am also Lee Marvin.

I don't think we ate (or drank) anything like as much this year, and going by all that's left over I'm sure it's true.
so why do my trousers still not fit?

I am also under serious orders to lose at least 1 of my spare tyres! HID has signed me up with the dreaded WW's just around the corner from my office tomorrow at 12.45!! Fortunately the pub next door does a really good pie so the plan is to go to the WW meeting, get the grim news, and then head off to the pub for my last - sniff :( - pie for a while and a couple of Guinnesses!! :D :D

If all goes according to HID's scheme, I'll be having to change my forum name in about 3 months :(

Gotta get a bit off as well, no booze in January and cutting out crisps and choc for the forseeable.

Seriously Pieman, Weightwatchers ..........isn't that where you all sit round 'sharing' and weighing yourself :p ..and you pay for the pleasure!!

Just get out on the course more I say, and walk more briskly!! :)
