Not a lot different from being seen having a beer in a Pub in terms of legality.

Though may get a censure about 'role model' (as if any football player can be!) status - which is fair enough imo.

Btw. If you wander along Queen St to #52, you can pay homage to the place here the 'proper anaesthetic' effects of chloroform were discovered. I believe it's now home to an alcohol/drug councelling charity, so a touch of irony perhaps - the effectsof both legal and illegal highs

Hmmm - I'm alone in this then - and hesitate to suggest you may all be missing my point - well two points.

1) Legal Highs can be lethal and many only remain legal because legislation hasn't caught up....

Nitrous Oxide has been popular as a "legal high" since 1799, so definitely dragging their heels on the old legislation front.

Hmmm - I'm alone in this then - and hesitate to suggest you may all be missing my point - well two points.

1) Legal Highs can be lethal and many only remain legal because legislation hasn't caught up. Meanwhile we are trying to teach our youngsters that it is very dangerous to dabble in legal highs as you never know what the hell it is and what it might do to you.

2) Whatever NO 'actually' is - it's been described in the media as a 'legal high'; Kyle Walker has been reported as admitting to having having taken a legal high; Kyle Walker has not been punished (correctly) nor has her been reprimanded in any way by the FA or PFA for 'dabbling in legal highs' - exactly the thing we are trying to warn our teens against doing. Brilliant.

It's disappointing the degree of ignorance that exists in the public conscience on this subject - and so if my posting prompts anyone here to look into legal highs in a bit more depth and gain a bit of understanding of the potential damage they can cause to our youth and community - then good - job done.

Whilst I agree with you that providing education to young, vulnerable people especially on any drug, both legal and illegal is important, what has happened here is so far from anything but news. For a start calling NO a "legal high" is rather misleading. It's no different to you grabbing a helium balloon and inhaling to get a squeaky voice. Punishing Walker for what he did would be completely OTT. Just because the media reported it as a "legal high" doesn't make it so. If anything Walker should come out and say, it's not a legal high, but he said sorry and it was a bad judgement call so that is more than sufficient.

It's about time we stopped the preachy attitude to drugs and provide more information and support.

Personally I would make pretty much ALL drugs legal. Tax the distributors, introduce standards to adhere to and provide areas and support groups to people who are treated as patients instead of criminals. It's this outdated view on the war on drugs and prohibition that needs to change.

I agree - and don't want Walker punished. Just thought it would be good for the FA to publicly say to him that what he did was not a great idea given issues and public concern around substances that provide 'legal highs' (so a reprimand); and for Walker himself to agree it wasn't a good idea (which he has done in a way by saying sorry) and back up the FA statement about more 'dangerous' legal substances.
