James Taylor, Cricketer retiring

Hugely disappointing news just announced that James Taylor, the young Notts and England batsman, has had to retire due to a similar heart condition suffered by Fabrice Muamba. Great that this has been picked up and he is safe but a real shame as I think he is a very exciting batsman and had a real chance to cement a place in the England team. He offered something different and worked hard to get where he is.

I hope he moves onto the next thing and is a success.

Awful news! Seems like a really nice genuine bloke. I hope he PCA and Notts will look after him. He had a good tour of SA and deserved a run I. The England side. Am sure they will!

saw this on the news this am , fantastic close in fielder and was on the verge of a settled test place ,very sad for him but pleased it has been found and that they can now monitor him .

Saw some tweets of him wired up in hospital. Always sad to see talent never get fully fulfilled but good to see him getting the treatment before anything nasty happens
