Well, went out and played with it yesterday and have to be honest I felt a little more confident on the greens with it. It sits perfectly at address and I feel that I could get used to it quite quickly. It is definitely lighter than my MD putter though so I will be adding some weight to it before my next round on Sunday. All in all, a bit of a bargain....as was Tyrell Woods GC.
Don't know if anyone has played here before, but what a superb track. F fairly easy opening hole, par 4 all downhill which is easily driveable. Both myself and my mate birdied it, I nearly had an eagle when my chip from just off the green hit the flagstick and finished a tap in away. Would have been nice to have stood on the 2nd tee two under!
Quite a trek to the second hole from the first green but then the course really gets going. Some superb holes, and the course was presented in gorgeous condition with superbly manicured fairways, great greens which, whilst not being super fast, were true. Some terrific views around the course and the best bit? We managed to get on for £21.50 each using an online booking website which gave us a big discount. We will definitely be going back again for another round. One of the nicest courses I have played. Quite leggy though, not the ideal place for 36 holes if you are knocking on a bit. My legs were really aching walking up the 17th fairway (bit of a climb) but thankfully some respite on the 18th as you are off an elevated tee and walk downhill back towards the clubhouse. Had a great game with my mate, he beat me 1up and took the money (yet again) but I didn't play too badly at all. 15 points out with two stupid blobs and 20 points back in. I've just got to get my cards handed in at Highwoods now...
Would highly recommend Tyrells Wood though to anybody looking for a round on a decent track for not too much money.
