Afternoon all,

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/lapto...3539!&ef_id=VCnXuQAABNB-CQsk:20150205142825:s

I want to buy a new laptop. I only use it to watch skygo, play a few games (not 'gaming' games , just WGT and flyordie), facebook, emails etc

my current Sony Vaio laptop is on its way out, albeit ive had it 5 years, the battery life has deteriorated to the point where it has 30 mins tops when off charge. after an hour or so it becomes really hot, and it often sounds like an aeroplane taking off.

Is that laptop in the link worthy of its price tag?

I get easily attracted to bright colours, plus i like the option of it being like a tablet, and touch screen

Appreciate your thoughts,

Lenovo are good, i just got a X1 carbon. But if you only plan to use skygo etc then you can do that a lot cheaper.

Appreciate your thoughts,

Indeed, a 'spring clean' of the Sony may be all it needs.

That noise could well be the fan, which is genreally easy to replace. The heat build-up could be an indication of that too. What Operating System are you usein and is the machine/OpSys 32 or 64 bit? How much Ram is installed? You can find all that info by running CCleaner - which should be a relatively frequent process anyway, as should its sister product Defraggler!

It's quite possible with an inexpensve change, you can get everything you need for another 2 or years - and spend the money saved on clubs!

Btw. That laptop referenced seems overpriced/over-specced for your needs! But then I'm not a touchscreen fan and don't use Iphone/Smartfone!
