Iron Vs Hybrid ?

I have a cally 3H which I hit a dream, trouble is that it is more than a clubs difference in length so I use my Mizzy fli hi 3 iron, which I also hit well.
I have a 5 wood which, for me is versatile enough on my course.
If playing somewhere else I might be tempted to put the 3H in

I find hybrids,recovery woods very effective in light rough,on a good fairway lie I personally find there is no exceptional difference to using an iron but I find it easier to strike well more often with these clubs than say a 3 iron.
