No - just take your list of questions that you would like understand the answers to. If you are forking over your hard earned, you have more right than them to ask questions.

It will probably be a lot more friendly than you expect anyway - most feedback on here seems to reflect that.

Enjoy!

looks like a nice course though.....

It is a nice course. Tree lined parkland, not overly long but some testing holes and the stroke index 1 & 2 holes are right buggers!
Whenever I have visited in the past it has always been in superb condition, and I have always tended to play the course reasonably well. The other thing is that the members have always been welcoming, whether I've been there on my own or been playing with another member.
Really looking forward to getting back into a club atmosphere.

Is this an English thing?
Over the years I've been a member of several prestigeous courses in Scotland and have never come across this commitee interview situation. :D
Some clubs require you to be proposed and seconded for membership but no interviews.

I had to be proposed and seconded by existing members that I had known for a minimum of two years.
When I joined Crowborough back in the 80's I didn't know anyone there and just completed an application form. I was called up for interview shortly afterwards and just asked what my future plans were (golf wise) and why I wanted to join their particular club over other local ones.

I got in through the back door initially at Ascot as my neighbour and work colleagues (how bad is living two doors down from someone you work with) step dad was that years Captain. Straight in 5 days rounded up to 7 before the end of the full year (not popular when that got out). When I rejoined a few years back I knew that years captain and he knew what I was about so it was more a case of listening to his plans for the club in his year of office and smiling politely. Job done
