Internet upload speed.

What would you class as an average upload speed as mine is rather poor at 0.37.

I'm with plusnet and would like to know what most people on here get and with what provider before I complain how slow it is.

just run a test, get 0.78mbps upload (dload is 3.47mbps), use BT if it matters, definitely not overly speedy but been pretty reliable to date

Infinity here and getting the advertised 65mb down and 20mb up. It can still vary wildly for others in our town who live further away from the exchange/longer lengths of copper before getting to the fibre portion of the link.
Its great for a busy house when the kids and wife are using it too. Only downside is that some sites dont work any quicker as they may be on lesser connections and you are only as quick as the slowest part of the chain.

As a PC gamer I hope for at least 1mbs. Got 2.5 up/5 down when on BT, virgin it was 0.9 up/ 10 down!

I also create a lot of things for PC games so I like a good upload speed. One day I will have one!

on the BT network it depends on service provider, exchange eqpt (20cn, 21cn & fibre) and distance from exch (moreso for download as uploads are capped generally and pretty much get what it should be)

20cn is 8mb max down and .5 up (average upload average is around .38 - .45)
21cn is 24mb down 1mb up (usually around 0.8 ish)
infinity is 40mb down 10mb up or 80mb down 20mb up (upload usually pretty much on the max so 10/20mb)

We are with smallworld,a fairly small cable company, but many bits of Irvine are on their fibre optic system.
Just ran a speed test and it shows 30.4 download and 2.22 upload speed. Really chuffed with that .

Living in the middle of nowhere I get 311 Kbps.

With Sky, get 12.3 downand 1.4 up.
Stable connection with good attenuation and SNR for a rural line that runs through hedgerows.

I live a 3/4 wedge from the junction and less than a mile from the exchange. 7.00 is the fastest of all in my area.

0.37 must be "fair".

What worries me is that some folk are getting less than 2.00 mbps according to speedtest.

Just goes to show. Talk Talk is the worst around here, but 5 and 0.7 is good. Nice

I'm fed up of the whole thing.

I've been looking to change for about 2 months.....can't even work out "how much?" from all the big providers.
