Evening all,
Hopefully someone can help....I have a problem lately with internet explorer not responding and hanging when trying to open pages on the site.....Sometimes it freezes completely for 10 or so seconds and then it wakes up again....
It seems to be getting worse over the past 2 weeks.....
Anybody got any clue of what this might be....
I have windows vista on my laptop if that makes a difference......

Thanks in advance.........Mike.

I got fed up of IE8 taking what seemed like ages to load pages.

I use Google Chrome now and it's very fast compared to IE8 imo.

Just noticed as I'm typing this that Chrome's inbuilt spell-checker doesn't like the word Google! Bit of an oversight :)

how does Chrome compare with Firefox, particularly with the unwanted ads and pop-ups? I ask because my Firefox is forever updating itself and knocking out preferences as it does so.

In Internet Explorer, click on Tools, Internet Options,Advanced, Reset.

this knocks off your temp files and history and restores Internet explorer to its factory settings.

I dont like Chrome, I use firefox myself

you can opt not to clear personal data, so that would preserve your cookies which remember the log on details.

however everything in your history will go, so if you look at the address bar, on the right is a drop down arrow, click on it and a list of recent sites appears, if you need to retain any of these, I suggest you open the site and add to favorites.

Your favorites are retained

Hope this helps

Similar, although I don't have many updates for Chrome and I prefer Chrome's 'clean' look x

Uninstall IE pronto. Crap and insecure.

Use Chrome or Firefox, both easier to use and more reliable.
