Instead of constantly posting here each time I play a round

Summed up well

Reciting a round hole by hole shot by shot is dull as dishwater - especially for us mere Amatuers

If the blog was reviews and tips and amusing tails and interesting stories etc then would see the appeal.

...and burds, don't forget the burds:smirk:

You don't have to get the point,it's not all about you.
Lots of people can't see the point of hitting a little white ball around a field, but we do it.

You really struggle with pretty basic communication don't you?

I'm not looking to be confrontational, I'm asking for a blogger to give me their motivation.

If you blog, and post the blog, it becomes public property, therefore qualifies for comment. Thus becoming my business.

I appreciate you are always looking for confrontation and offence, but in this case you've misread the inference.

I'm looking for understanding, not necessarily criticism. Unless you write a blog you can't help, so best you pop off to one of the football threads, where you're most comfortable :o

Oh dear, take a big breath & calm down flower.

I'm calm. I'm just not really sure why you comment on subjects you've no understanding of. Consider this an intervention:o

Be honest, your ears pricked up as soon as you saw an opportunity to have a pop at Homer & his blog.
Just don't read the blogs,it's really that simple.

Maybe, I did have a pop at homie but Phil, quite rightly, edited my post.

However I am genuinely interested in the motivation for a blog.

Take homer as an example. It must take him hours to write. To what end? Who is his audience? Is anyone actually interested in his odyssey?

I don't know the answer to these questions, I'm just trying to understand.

As much as I agree that blogs are somewhat confusing to me, I have to say that maybe these bloggers just enjoy writing about their "on-course exploits".. It's a purely selfish thing (not meant in a negative way at all). Like a diary I suppose. I never understood the urge to write a diary, but plenty do and enjoy it.. The fact that it's public just appears to be the modern equivalent, like all new media really..

I appreciate a diary, and sharing it online is maybe a digital disease.

But the subject matter is pretty mundane, do they ever self censure and wonder if what they write has an audience. Without an audience why post?

Maybe I'll never understand. I should start a blog about my quest for an open mind, but only if a few of you commit to reading it.

Well I don't read anyone else's blog, so I'm sure as hell not gonna read yours.. Do I look like I've got time to spend all day on the computer? :D

I've decided to start a blog about it instead. Link is in my signature for anyone interested.

Good luck with your golf

This is really meant with best of intentions...

If you do plan on keeping a public blog going you might want to proof read the grammar and run it through a spell check just to catch all those little things that might distract the reader or dissuade them from future visits to your pages
