While in lockdown im completing various projects. I have a concreted and carpetted very level section of my garage 3x2m and I want to put down some artificial putting grass.

Can anyone recommend a grass and supplier please? Indoor as apposed to using it outside.
How would suggest fixing it down, just strong glue?
I did think about building it up on a base of 2x2 and ply but don't want the extra work.
Anyone done something similar and got any input?

Much appreciated.

I have soemthing I bought quite a few years ago at one of the London golf shows. They are called "Turf Tiles",and are an astro turf type thing on a plastic base that interlocks in all 4 directions. Each tile has a grain, and a stimp of about 11. I bought 2 boxes at the time, so I can have a putting track of anything up to 8 metres, or I can create any configuration with the amount I have. Normally, I dont have them all out, and leave then in a track and park my car over them in the garage.
I'm not sure if you can still get them, but they are pretty damned good.:)

Do the joins not affect the role?

I have one of these in the conservatory

https://www.pro-stroke.co.uk/

Prior to that I had built a custom raised green in there with 3 holes, but found we never really used more than one hole, so decided that a single hole mat was more useful. Been using it more than ever over the past month. Hopefully going to be deadly from anywhere inside 8ft when we finally get back on the course

Marine carpet. Absolute bargain. Rolls great. Only £5.99psqm glue it foam gym mats and then onto OSB raised on some timbers, then you can fit a proper golf hole into it.

We’ve literally just taken delivery of some for the studio. Going to build it next week.

have you used marine carpet before? is it as suitable for outdoor use as the website claims? if not any suggestions on the thickness of astro turf should use? thinking either 12mm or 15mm.
I think it is suitable but I don’t need it to be

Order some samples for the carpet on online carpets. 12mm is rubbish, you’ll be dissapointed. 15mm is really good (called Ryder Pro on there) but it’s expensive

I was asking for myself to be honest. i'm just exploring options for when i re-do my front garden. have agreed that we'll have a 3*4 area covered with grass, either real, astro or carpet.

Just ordered some artificial putting grass from Verde Sport Turf. After making several calls today this guy gave me some great advice and has grass ready to be delivered this week. £124 all in for the 3x2 size I need. I will post some pictures once its all fitted. http://www.artificialgrass.org.uk/shop/verdegrass/
I’ll be perfectly honest, I would expect much with a 9mm pile height. But if it does the job you looking for.

I had 12mm samples delivered from a number of companies and it basically got put in the bin a minute after delivery

I probably wouldn’t lay this stuff in a front garden. A specific area raised for putting maybe...

The guy on the phone said it was very fast, he didnt have a stimp speed on it but said it is quick, doesn't need sand and can be laid on hardstanding. They're a artificial sports grass specialist so got to be knowledgable. He advised me against his £500 option for a few reasons.
