I'm struggling

Curb your enthusiasm and it's always sunny are brilliant.

It takes a specific sense of humour I’ll admit. However Curb your enthusiasm has me howling with laughter at times.

The ‘orgasam car seat’ scene was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. I was howling.

Leon is such a cracking foil to Larry’s schtick too. Funniest thing out of the states ever for me and I love the older stuff like cheers, mash, police squad, Frazier etc.

Anyone seen Flight if the concords?

Personally think it’s up there if you ‘get’ that type of thing

The songs are borderline genius at times.

I caught about 3-4 of these and they were brilliant.

Must start them from the beginning - are they on netflix or anywhere?

That other one that was about the Olympics was in a similar vein - the one from Downton was in it, cant remember what that one was called.

I can’t recommend it enough Peds.

Peter Capalidi is utterly vicious but the scriptwriting is just relentlessly brilliant.

There was a spin off film too called ‘in the loop’ and whilst it did try to cater for our transatlantic cousins a little. It is still brilliant.

I'll have to get the missus into it as well, and watch them.

One of my favourite in the past was Yes minister/ Yes prime minister - Every 3-4 years I'll watch them all again on Gold, and they havent aged. I'm sure this will be a lot more biting from the ones I saw, but politcal satire, delivered in a machiavellian bent, could make it a winner.(y)

A couple worthy of mention IMHO...
Current - Two Doors Down. (Which certainly doesn't spare the sensibilities of the PC brigade)
Recent - Count Arthur Strong (third series finished about 18 months ago. An acquired taste, and I did prefer the radio version)

And whilst I have never seen a full episode of either - and, frankly, wouldn't want to - one has to say that both Mrs Brown's Boys, and Citizen Khan were (seemingly??) exremely popular.

The Mighty Boosh
Catastrophe
8 out of 10 Cats
30 Rock
Spaced
Shooting Stars
Derek (utter utter genius)
Phoenix Nights

🤔 I'm beginning to think this forum is populated predominantly by elderly men who think that "everything was better in my day Sonny".

There's just as much great comedy as there always was, it's just different now (and it's far from PC if you actually watch it rather than judge from your Chesterfield whilst furiously penning a complaint to Points of View.)

As I'm almost 60, you're probably right.

But I don't have a chesterfield and I've never written to points of view. If I don't find something funny I just turn it off

Try Veep as well. Started off as the US version of thick of it with the same writers. Also you are referring to 2012 which was great. At was W1A, same people.

Detectorists is a modern classic, really enjoyed Benidorm for some old school laughs. Also as mentioned Parks and Rec is as good as you get.

Good man. It's always heartening when people realise that they don't have to watch things they don't like 👍

Wad flicking through the Sky channels the other week and came across MASH!

Now there was a US show that was brilliantly written and acted; and a lot of the jokes still spot-on even after nearly 40 years.

Cheers is another classic. Some absolutely great one liners.

I think that old saying about it takes all sorts is never more true when it comes to comedy.
Whenever I see Jack Whitehall I just don't get it. The guy is about as funny as liver cancer, but for some reason people think he's great, go figure!

Young Offenders is brilliant, they made a film too which is equally excellent.

Some old fav's, the inbetweeners, the office, IT Crowd,

This was my daughter’s favourite comedy when she was young. We have watched every episode at least six times, and would be my specialist subject on Mastermind.
