Ikea Furniture

Why aren't you guys just using the pencils the course gives you at the start of every round to mark your card (you know then that its been designed with golfers in mind) (y)

I hate going into Ikea with a passion but you can get some good deals and the our Ikea bedroom furniture must be over ten years old with no issues at all.
My son must have a season ticket to them as he is re-doing his flat from Ikea and want's his birthday and christmas presents in Ikea vouchers.
For any self pack, thank goodness for the advent of the electric screwdriver. No more blistered palms of hands!

You obviously play at a flash course. Pencils are 10p a go up here at the courses I play at. Decadence, sheer decadence.

OK here's the plan, I found out earlier that there's no Ikea within 5000km of here so no one has any idea what it is

If you pop down there every day or so and clean them out of their stock of HB's (using your experience at that sort of thing) and then (ever so careful mind) just scratch the letters 'GC' after ikea on each pencil. Then just ship them out here on one of them flying doodlies and I'll flog them to unsuspecting golf course directors for 2 groats a dozen

I'll split the takings with you, just jot your bank account details into this post (y)

This time next year we'll be.... locked up probably!

I know. Presumably that also infers that I cheat in every comp :D. Pencils from IKEA one day, golf cheat the next, it's a natural progression.

I am actually giving them free advertising every weekend, they should be grateful. Maybe I should charge them
On a recent golf hol to USA I came home with 94 pencils , not your cheap ones mind I won’t take it if it hasn’t got a rubber on.

The best story I ever heard about IKEA was when they tried to ban a group of university students from having a massive game of hide-and-seek in one of their stores. That was just a genius idea.

Wow those rebel students. Bet their adrenaline was pumping!

😏

Ikea have a very stringent quality control system and carry out extensive product testing. There was a documentary on the TV recently about it that showed how difficult it was for suppliers to meet their quality standards.

Having purchased some of their furniture over the years I have found the flat-pack very easy to assemble and far superior to other brands in this respect. I had a leather sofa of theirs once that was absolutely first class.

I am quite surprised at some of the comments here regarding the quality of their products.

They're definitely easy to assemble. Not disputing that at all. If I manage it then anyone can!

We've a few of their white draw units though, and in many of the drawers, the bottom panel comes out of the back piece of the drawer, so it then bows downwards. Maybe from the missus trying to cram too much into one drawer. And on one or two the whole drawer sort of drops by half an inch on one side, so I have to kind of nudge it upwards while closing. They still do a job though so we just crack on with them - never expected them to be perfect forever at the price they are.

We also have a large chest of drawers in the bedroom, by Ikea.
Have had it now for about 3 or 4 years and it is as strong today as it was when first put together.
I'd buy another tomorrow if I needed one.

The wife hates my version of an ikea trip

I’ll browse online for what I want

I hate going round the show room.. takes forever and what you want is randomly placed and then you must take a note of where it is in the warehouse

So like I said I’ll Browse online.. pick a time that’s quieter .. about 20:45 on a Thursday just before closing.. go in the exit side of the store through the tills (they don’t mind btw) and just go exactly where online has told me the item is stored in the warehouse and load up

15 mins in and out

She said I’m a spoil sport

Lucky you, mine is either Dubai or Jeddah, both a smidge over 5,000km away (could do with one here though, and a starbucks... oh and since i'm asking a Greggs would be nice)
I was going to pop over for a game with you but not having a Starbucks is a deal breaker (n)

What! No meatballs?

The last time I went IKea (about 8 years ago) I got there as the doors opened knowing exactly what I wanted I just got through the turnstyle when I realised I had left something I needed in the car. The staff made me walk all through the store using the one way system to get out. By the time I got back the queue for the salesman was 20 long. I swore I would never go in one again.

I've got a baggmuck in the hallway for dirty shoes and I drink my wine out of an ivrig (y)
