I might buy a scotty...??

Thanks for all the replies.

I'll be heading out in a bit to check some out. Not sure about the taylormade's Homer - i want to get away from the inserts, my mate plays a taylormade and his distance control is inconsistent and that puts me off a bit. Though he's not the best on the greens full stop.....

Also, my club house doesnt sell clubs, not that i've noticed, but i'll ask the pro and see if he can get them in on order, if there's one i like. I know, what sort of a club doesnt sell clubs...i can't answer that!!

I'll let you know how my search goes over the next few weeks.

Played today and was terrible, and i mean genuinely terrible. About 20 over, but we didnt bother with a score card and chatted our way round.... (Take note Rickg, it'd been a 0.1 given back for sure ;) ) The weather was nice though.

Conclusion on the putter front is, i'll get the Studio Select Newport 2 Mid Slant, or the FastBack perhaps. But im going to try and get the fella to throw in a putting lesson and I'm going to buy a pathfinder too and really work on a good solid stroke.

Has anyone got any idea where I could try the mid slant and fast back out on a real green somewhere local to me (Coventry / Midlands)?

My AG has a small indoor green thats really, really quick with masive cups (must be to make you think any putter you try is amazing and you buy!!). My local range doesnt have a green but has a 6ft putting mat....rubbish. My club doesnt sell clubs.

I want to give them a run out on a big green and try them properly from different ranges.

Ask AG if they will give you a trial period.
Buy it, use it for a week and if you dont like it, take it back for a full refund.
They might say no, but if you dont ask.........you dont get

I asked if i could take one away for an hour or so and they said no, they have no demo's either, he was helpful otherwise. If i bought one and tried to return it just because i didnt like it - would i get away with that?

I'll pop in tomorrow and ask, he was a nice guy, i think he'd have offered me this at the time. i was in there for about 45 mins trying them, he'd have bagged a sale in offering me a return service!
