After my lesson last night i asked the pro if i could hit a few with the new titleist 910 D2 driver as i've heard nothing but praise for them and really like the look of them. I don't really need a new driver as im hitting mine pretty well and it's only about 8 months old but i couldn't resist and i thought surely it can't be that much better than my current driver....how wrong i was!

He came back with one with a stiff shaft in a 10.5* and it set to standard. I didn't expect to hit it that well straight away as the head is smaller and looks alot smaller than my mx700, my mx700 is slightly toed in aswell and this sits square so to me it looked a little bit open so i was expecting to loose everything right and i've never hit a driver with a stiff shaft before but first drive was as good if not better than anything i hit with mine but such a better more penatrating ball flight and felt so much more in control with a stiff shaft, also it felt alot more solid strike off the face as if the head of the club is solid lump of metal and not hollow. Where as my mx700 feels hollow and it's more of a springy feeling off the face.

Only hit about a dozen balls with it as it was the end of my basket but i'm completley sold on it and have booked myself in for a flightscope fitting on the 1st of feb to get fitted for one.

So there goes the money i was saving for a holiday in summer but i'm sure it will be worth it.......

:)

To be honest i've hardly ever skyed a driver....... honest!

I'm more likely to come in a little too steep every once in awhile and crack the head into the ground and was paranoid i was going to do that and watch it just crack in half as the pro looked on in disgust but luckily i never!

I even managed to leave some dirty ball marks right on the sweetspot ;)

bozza, wait until you own it, you've paid for it, its all yours, and then you relax and the old faults creep back in and you cant hit.

Ill start the bidding off £100 :D

The D2 you say?

Well the head isn't smaller its a 460cc head.

The D3 is the smaller head at 445cc. Mine has just arrived and I hope to collect it on Monday, what shaft did you try in it?

AAAAAARRRRGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

For the love of God, please please PLEEEAAAASSEEEEE stop talking about the Titleist 910 Drivers.......how you like them, .....how well they perform, and everything about them...........

.......I'm trying to resist...I really AM,....and you lot are making this difficult.

Hmm i may have been wrong it may have been the D3 then as the head did look alot smaller than my mx700 but the head on mine is quite stretched and it looks alot bigger than most other divers.

I did take note of the shaft but now i've completley forgot it, it was a stiff shaft and was a grey and orange colour if thats any help, i presume it was just a stock stiff shaft.

buy it but it, but it, hopefully in a 9.5 stiff mid launch shaft, then when you hack it, let me know ;)

You will have to join the queue! as the first thing my old man said "i'll end up having that off you in a few months when you can't use it"

He said the same about my mx700 when i bought it and he is going to end up getting that....for a small fee of course!
