She did fantastically well this year to make it through to the second week. BUT I'm really worried that now the Perry hoodoo has been banished by Murray that the press will shift their attention to creating the it's been 36 years since we've won the ladies title...

Really hope she gets the chance to develop naturally without ridiculous levels of pressure

2 years at least before pressure goes that way imo.

1. She's only 19, so still plenty of development required.
2. Everybody will still have such high expectations for Murray, they won't 'bother' with her (lack of) progess.

People don't care about the ladies anywhere as much as the mens IMO

Word on the street is that she split with her last coach because he told her she was lazy and wasn't prepared to put the work in to get her fitness to the level where she could be a contender. I wouldn't hold my breath.

I had heard the same thing and that she doesn't really seem to have that inner hunger to go the extra mile and put the effort in when it really hurts. I hope she gets a good coach and can build on the success she had this week but I am not sure he truly has what it takes. I could be wrong. I usually am

I don't think she is actually good enough to trouble the top of the woman's game. Best British female player but that's a poor pool to pick from.

I can believe that. She does look like a toffee nosed upper crust sort. Mumsie and Dadsie have podded out for her to get to this level but she won't get any further. Look at her body. No muscle tone whatsoever. Lazy bird!

Andy Murray at 19 was hardly Mr Universe - more Mr Puny, and he was supported left, right and centre by his folks. As far as looks are concerned - so you have to be well off to be well presented, politely spoken and good looking? Don't think so. In any case the toffee-nosed upper crust lot tend to be a bit in-bred so can look rather 'odd' - Laura Robson doesn't look one little bit odd.
