My 1st Medal of the year today - a solid .1 to go up to 8.5 and back to playing off 9.
With a bloody 10 on the card!!!

Our 13th, par 5, isn't really tricky. 500 yards of straight grass with rough down one side and a copse of trees just off the fairway at 250. 3 ordinary shots should see me on the green but, No, I have to smother one left into waist high clag that shouldn't see a golf ball ever, then hit another to the fairway. Thinking I've got to go for it to keep the score going - I was only 5 over gross to there - I went for it and hooked it OB left and nothing really worked from there in...

Had a nice 60 foot birdie putt on 6 though and at least I still beat Fragger - he had an 11!! - and a 285 yard drive on the last. Nett 75 ain't gonna trouble the scorers..

Fear not. I hit some balls on the practice ground and it was abjectly poor right until the very last 2 ball and then it clicked and both went perfectly and landed within 5 foot of each other and within 10 yards of the flag (160 yards away using 5 iron). Picked them all up including an old one left out there. Hit that as a closer and it was the best one of the night. Me thinks the golfing gods were yanking my chain

You're not alone I shot an 11 on our par 5 8th today! Penalty drop and 4 shots out of a bunker!! I'm normally out first time but today it was not to be!!
