Hybrid Lengths

I just bought a 24 degree SLDR hybrid head, I'm going to pop in a kbs hybrid shaft, the stock length graphite is 40 1/4" for graphite which seems a bit long for me. Any recommendations for built length in steel?
Primarily I'll be using it out of the rough.

The G30 23 deg = 39.75"
The G30 26 deg = 39.25"
The Titleist 23 deg = 39.5"

So maybe try 39.75" and see how it feels ?

So I'm about to buy the shaft, so quick question to club builders out there, my irons are KBS tour 90, do I pop in one of these or do I pop in a KBS Hybrid shaft.
The profiles look similar to me, if it works well I may try it on my R15 hybrid as well.
