Hybrid ball position

Where is the best place to position the ball in your stance if using a hybrid wood off the fairway? I've read that you should place it in the middle of your stance but have also read that for a 5 or 4 iron you should position the ball slightly forward of centre and am a little confused by this, as the hybrid's shaft is quite a bit longer.

I personal put it an inch or two forward of centre as I tend to balloon it much too high and/or push it right if I put it in the middle of my stance.

Left of centre, same place I'd put the ball for a long iron.

any where left of centre, but try different positions when you practise. i find if i want it high play near the middle, longer bring it towards driver position.

Thanks, I'm quite new to the club and will try putting it a bit further forward like the 5 iron
