Turns out our lounge and kitchen radiators have had tiny leaks and have corroded loads inside, and now are past resurrection.

Will get some quotes for 2 new rads and fitting, and presumably flushing the system.

What should I expect to be paying for that ? £100 a rad , plus half day's labour for 1 experienced plumber ?

Thames Valley prices - ugh!

So easy DIY job, shut the valves off, remove rad and replace. Bleed and off you go! Seriously if you were round the corner I would come and help! Just have a tray to catch water and a route to outside as the black water is a mare, but google it dude!

I did two this year as well, I had a slight problem with sizes of rads and connectors but all went well in the end. Rooters right though, don't get the black water on carpets etc. I looked on utube for good advice

Forgot to say, if you are doing a straight rad swap and leaving the valves (this is the easiest and does not require draining the whole system) you will need to take the old connectors out of the old rad and reuse. Tools you will need are 2 big spanners, a large Allen key (or a bolt head that fits the hole in the valve and some mole grips) and some ptfe tape. Get on you tube and earn some man points! Although I did hear on the radio, there would be over a million DIY disasters this weekend... Lol

Check out Brooklyn Trading to see if they've still got radiators in stock. We got 6 delonghi ones for just under £150.

That's actually what I was wondering. I will have a look at YouTube as you suggest.
Appreciate the steer all
