How Many???

Only one new one for me this year, Hesketh in Southport.

Was OK, bit of a split personality course and was blowing a hooly when I was playing which probably didn't help matters!

A few nice holes though, not many that stick in the memory though to be honest.

Definitely looking for a few more next year. Beau Desert definitely on the list for the forum meet following the reviews from the recent visit.

About 20 or so I would guess.

Favourites: Castle Stuart, Lilla Vik (Sweden) & Boat of Garten.

Castle Stuart for the attention to detail of the staff, the amazing bunkers and great company.

Lilla Vik for the amazing views on the cliff top holes.

Boat of Garten for the panoramic scenery, variation of holes and the abiding memory of finding the only flat faiway lie on the whole course....duffing my 4 iron about 30 yards.....and hearing Smiffy murmur "well out" :D

I think I have only played 2 - Loch Lomond goes straight towards the top of my all-time favourites, and Cooden was a very nice track that I had never heard of - a very enjoyable place littered with my golf balls. The experience of Loch Lomond will take some beating - right from being picked up in new range rovers, the stunning cottage, near the 18th and the motor cruiser on the Loch, great service, fantastic course and spending 3 hours getting pissed and having a laugh in the changing rooms on leather chairs after the game - really surreal!!

Just 6 newbies this year...
(1) Forest Pines,
(2) Morecambe,
(3) Royal Ascot,
(4) Pennant Park, North Wales
(5) Styal, Nr.Manchester.
(6) Frodsham,Nr Chester
looking forward to Goswick on Fri/Sat.

I would say I have played about 8 new courses this year and the outstanding number one is Bearwood Lakes.
