How Long

I've been told I've a hernia and got a scan on the 12th September to see the size etc. Does anyone know how long it takes between the scan and getting it down on the NHS. Is it down to the size and damage or is there a set timetable. Trying to work out how long I will be out of action for so I can work out the best time to have it done (if I get any degree of choice) so I dont miss too much golf, ideally during the winter golf period

Make sure nobody plays as you during your recovery, we don't want another homergate now do we.....

Back to the question, can you not push it through seeing as you work for the nhs?

I had a hernia when I was younger and my understanding is that it is down to size, I had to have an op as mine was too big to be just treated and would have done serious damage had it just been left, I'm afraid I can't help you with timescale though as I was living in the USA at the time so it wasn't treated by the NHS

I suppose it is down to the seriousness of it. Unless it is at the possible life threatening stage I have never known the nhs to rush appointments.

I think that when I had mine my operation was within a week or 2 of them finding it, no idea if that's due to the severity of it or just because we were British nationals in the USA so were covered, also homer I would just get it done as soon as possible really, and I think I couldn't really do much exercise for about 2-3 weeks after that so hopefully you could be back playing golf within weeks
