Don't know, and don't really care. As long as we've not held people up, don't feel rushed and enjoyed the round, does it really matter?

I like to be in a position where we can all get to our ball and not have to wait too long before the first man can play his shot. It allows you to use your PSR if you have one, and concentrate properly without feeling like someone ahead is affecting your pace of play.
Also, of course, you should not be adversely affecting those behind you.

at Nairn in the summer all the roll up 4BBB get round in 3 hours or slightly less if really quite 3.15 at worst. there is very little walking between tee's and greens on the old layout, the new will be longer on a few holes esp with the new Black tee's.

Nairn Dunbar does take longer, its been close to 4 hours recently but thats only because its been busier and held up. much longer walks between T&G though.

Our 4 ball takes 4:25 regularly. But we’re shooting low gross 70’s most of the time.
So you 10 less shots than me but take 40 minutes longer? Jesus Christ.
I don’t know any low cappers at ours who take that long.

To the above 2 posts.
You don’t know how long our course is, or the set up, and no we don’t have a half way house.
We’d rather enjoy playing at our pace then be forced to run around like some do.

Any harm in that? Try it, you never know you might shoot 10 shots better then you do 👍🏻

Interesting but doesn't your group have to be 1st out or on an empty(ish) course for the fastest time to be anyway relevant? And then its only valid for that group at that track on that day (exactly why the lap record at Silverstone means squat when compared to the fastest time round Spa-Francorchamps... in fact its more like comparing the F1 lap record at silverstone to the Nascar lap record at Indianapolis)

Each one has its own merit and circumstances that made it possible and each will be far removed from reality or the norm and isn't readily comparable to when others play on different days even at the same course
