It's officially the start of a new year, just like the coca-cola advert signals the start of Christmas at 10am I saw an advert for cadbury's cream eggs.

ridiculous isn't it, new year less than a few hours old and companies already starting to rinse the next holiday for all it can.

Won't be indulging in them myself either this year, kind of feeling a bit humbug to all the holidays at the moment due to how commercial they're becoming and losing their true meaning. Will be celebrating with the family in a more traditional way and trying to enjoy it for what it should be and not what it become.

Don't drink and don't do much chocolate since being diagnosed with diabetes 6 years ago so it all washes over me

Don't let diabetes rule your life Homer!

The odd beer or bit of chocolate will do no harm.

Totally agree although the lack of drink was more to do with the damage I've done to my pancreas over the years and not the diabetes. Can have a beer on "special occasions" and do still have the odd sweet dessert or bit of choccie. Doesn't control me but about striking a balance these days

That's it Homer, getting balance. Life would be too boring without a blowout now and again.

Even after 35 years of being diabetic I'm in pretty darn good health.
