How’s everyone cleaning their adjustable drivers?

If you want one of these fandangled drivers with weights in, then once you have found the right position for your shot type and are happy. fill the track with silicone, voila no more mud, and roberts your dads brother :)

dont think my drivers get dirty,if its wet and muddy it dosent touch the ground ,and i dont hit the ground when i play a shot with it either.how do you all get mud encrusted into the gubbins of your drivers?

Clearly the driver gets the least dirt on it but FW & hybrids are adjustable too & still need cleaned. The driver will still 'kiss' the ground depending on your preferred tee height though (pink castle and lower & I'd say you're making contact)

And anyone who cant hit their driver off the deck on those really long pars 5's into the wind really needs to practice a bit more :D

The driver gets the odd wipe. Pretty much the same for the fairway woods and hybrid.

They will get a token rinse when I get round to actually doing my irons every blue moon.

The grooves get a quick scrub before even shot.

Just a soft brush and a bit of soapy water should do the trick. I did rather wonder about the weight tracks on the bottom of some recent TM drivers. The speed slots on my RBZ Stage 2's seem to get clogged up with mud, particularly in the winter. :(

Them speed slots are the Devil !
My Adams is the worst for it. The plastic inside the speed slot is only half inside it as the rest has snapped away. Its near impossible to clean it out.

I don't recall having to clean the driver much beyond keeping it dry after rain etc

If you've got mud etc in the weights i'd suggest getting a small pressurised air canister and 'blow' it out? I'd imagine that would work well?

7 weeks into owning my first adjustable club and as someone who cleans their kit after each use its clear that keeping the driver clean is quite different from the old one so just wondered what others are using to keep their kit in good nick

My driver will quickly break down into 4/5 pieces, head, shaft, connecting screw & removable weight (+2nd screw)

Lots of nooks & crannies for dirt/moisture to hide, build-up and subsequently damage or shorten the clubs life

Warm water & soap is the usual stuff for regular clubs but wondering if I should be trying anything else on the moveable/removable parts. I split it down completely after Saturdays game and was quite surprised at the build up of dirt etc in the various parts

This is a really relevant thread, as I have found the same problem. I am a real fusspot when it comes to my golf stuff. I clean my clubs, shoes, and golf balls after every use, and I play up to 5 times a week. I also jet wash my trolley on a regular basis. I recently bought a TM R15, and unlike the other clubs, I won't leave it stood in a bucket of water. There are to many places the water can get into the head, and then I would struggle to get it out again. I get some kitchen roll, soak it and clean the base by hand. I then dry it off with a microfibre cloth

If you do need to clean it that bad soap and water is fine. Take head off and clean in hosel area the bit the screw goes into but depending on the driver you have I wouldn't remove weights because some are straight into the head and if you removed them and apply water the head will fill with water so then you need to dry all that out some how.
