Whats been your golfing high's and lows of 2010?

Highs-
Playing the Old Course at St Andrews with GCD,great to play there with such a good player who knew all the lines.
Going back to Machrihanish in March for the GM Meet
Playing the Glashedy Links at Ballyliffin ,golf porn
And playing Porstewart Old with my youngest son, a great wee course to have a knock on a summers night while on holiday.
Saving the best for last be selected for the GM Forum London Equipment Test, ya dancer :)

Lows-
Seeing my handicap go thru the roof back to 11 (10.6) ,i dont like. :(
And missing out on Castle Stuart and next years Machrihanish trip due to work aaahhh.

Highs...
Getting back to single figures, enjoying my golf and winning a couple of comps on the way. Oh and beating Fragger most weeks.

Lows...

The weather. Rubbish at both ends of the year and not a great summer either. Probably lost 8-10 weeks of play or more.

Highs
Getting back to playing regularly and my knee holding up after 5 yrs plus
Shooting level par in a bounce game

Lows
The weather - curtailed my enjoyment and Im now back climbing the walls again lol

Highs
Going out at #1 for the club's 4somes scratch team and helping gain promotion to division 1, only losing twice all season. :D

Lows
Not winning a single individual comp last year. :(

I don't get it, we had the best summer we've had for at least three years! Lost no more than two weeks in August but other than that June, July and September were great, even October was pretty decent. Compared to the previous couple of years where it just pissed down for the best part of 8 weeks straight it was a great summer (I don't recall too many places getting flooded out this summer like they did previously).

High: hitting 5 birdies in one round, on my way to a 79, one off my best score. Low: finishing the back nine 7-7 to drop 6 shots in two holes! What might have been...

High was beau desert, the course was fantastic. We had a great fourball, won some prizes so a great day.

Low losing in our club comp by 1 hole, took me a couple of weeks to get over.

Highs;
getting down to 8.5 and single figures for the fist time.
Winning a Medal at Tain for the first time.
Playing GM forum at Castle Stuart. Playing a round with smiffy at Boat of Garten, and him keep calling me Anthony. :D

Lows;
shoting 28 over for 8 holes in a medal and walking off not knowing if i would play again. :(

That's 8-10 weeks all year - plus it may have been a better summer than the last 3 but it still wasn't a great one.

Highs - - Beau Desert, great company, great course, Winning the GM North West meet at Frodsham and also winning my first club comp (although I only a Turkey)

Lows - - Definately not playing as much winter golf as normal due to the weather and also having a big dose of the high rights halfway through the season

Highs

The Castle Stuart and Nairn weekend was a high, two different courses, modern and traditional in one fell swoop :D

Another high would be surprisingly, being beaten by my 12 year old daughter over three rounds on holiday this summer. She just stands up and hits so hoping she can eat into her handicap next year.

Lows
Probably disappointed at going up to cat3 for first time since mid 90s.

However, overall, I've enjoyed my golf a lot more this year, even if I've played like a donkey at times :D

Winning Winter 4 Ball knockout, with lowest margin 3&2 iirc
3rd in Club Champ for 2nd year running
buying my Hogans and them reallllly suiting my swing

Low
Work Belfry weekend trip in lovely weather, having to leave cos i got a call that my mum had passed away. Not cos i missed out on golf or anything, but it really is just linked to golf for me now

Well I don't know what to say, I distinctly remember several weekends in June where me and my partner were both complaining it was far too hot to be playing golf! At one point in the year we were buying refrigerated bottles of water, pouring them into our caps and dumping it straight on our heads trying to cool down. Not mention hitting a one iron 343 yards, which would only have happened if the fairways were bone dry.

Like I said, 2 weeks in August were a bit rough but other than that it was perfect. I've lost more golf from frozen ground this year than I did from bad weather in the summer.

Highs :Winning Winter Foursomes, and getting on the honours board again, a mere 34 years after last time.
Getting back to single figures, after another 30 odd years.

Lows:
Back going just when i hit form, with two gross 75's and a 76 in consecutive competitions. Had to walk off after five holes in next competition, and not able to play for six weeks.
:( :(

Highs:

Down to scratch again, winning club championship of a course i was only a member for 18 days prior to my win. Shooting a reasonable score at castle sturart and playing lots of new courses. Getting picked for the GM equipment test was great also. :D :D :D

Lows
Not wonning the triple with the team like lasst year. :( :( :(

Has to be winning the Jubilee Cup and winning an honours board event. Fortunately it was only 10 years since my name was in gold letters. To the winner the spoils

The lows would have to be the dose of the shanks I got mid-season including my worse EVER round (including as a beginner) and the weather now and in early January which stopped play

Highs :

Enjoying playing again.
Improving my coaching, i feel i've learnt more this past year and made some good contacts with quality coaches than in previous years.

Lows :

Taking ill throughout the whole of June and recording my worst competitive score in about 20 years, took until end of September to fully recover.

Highs :

Taking up golf improved my health, both physically and mentally. It helped me overcome some stress and anxiety issues.

Winning two club stablefords, one by four clear points.

Shooting 84 twice within 14 days.

Lows :

Not achieving my expectations in the late summer, my game dropped off significantly before I decided I needed some more lessons.
