heres how it went peeps, critque away!

As others have said, good scoring considering your driving wasn't the straightest.

What driver were you using, and are you going to change it based on your tests on the launch monitor?

im using the TM 510TP 8.5 . Im changing it cos its old, and yes the results from the prev tests were promising!

The 510TP is a wonderful bat though, i agree old but i used to have one and then r7TPs and they are great clubs but if you have to move with the times IMHO the titleist driver at the moment are the best on the market.

Impressive stuff Golfstick, and thanks for putting the scores and length of drives up.

I can't offer any tips 'cos I aint good enough. Not that you need any.

Golfmmad.

If you want any free advice for improving your lag, let me know. I think you'd improve your quality of strike, distance, accuracy and consistency.

Let me know if you fancy a knock round Goswick sometime.

As the saying goes there are plenty of long hitters in the woods. You clearly hit the ball a decent distance anyway so if you tend to spray it with the driver even on a better ball striking day surely you can afford to lose a few yards and find 90% of the fairways to give you a better chance of knocking it close from the short grass

yer i half agree and half not. On bad days yes but on gud days the distance i get allows me to attack everything with short iron approaches. I can always rely on the par 5's as bankers usually, even from the ruff.

consistency is what i lack and im loosing patients trying to get it on my own i think i need a lesson

Golfstick this is just an obsevation mate and dont take it personal.....
If your that long could you not hit 3 wood off the tee's that you hit driver on.....You say your game lacks consistency...If your that aggressive off the tee all the time then maybe playing a little more conservative will get more consistency into your game.....
With a 3 wood your probably only 20 yards or so short of your driver and a hell of a lot easier to control...Those fairways missed with the driver may have been hit with a 3 or 5 wood which still means a relatively short iron onto the par 4's....

Obviously length isnt a problem for you so why not just murder your short game in practice so that you have no worries from 100 and in.

thanks for the comments guys, i hope to post some better scores when the weather improves!

Believe it or not charlie goswick was where we were supose to play this morning, until the hard frost hit. I would love some advice on generating lag. At the moment the best drill/ swing thought i can find is the wall drill. Take club to halfway whilst standing at arms length from the ball, then hit ball without hitting wall. Its not really working atm tho.

What would u suggest charlie if you dont mind me asking?

I think your right Kid, i try to bully the course i play by getting as close as possibly. Before the season starts my short game is going to be hot and from 100yards in i want to be hot cos i do hit a lot of wedges into greens.

I cnt hit my three wood very well at present so im in the process of changing it. At the moment i just try and muller my 3 iron cos its quite reliable...ish

Was that the guys from Matfen???

I can't remember your swing video you put up a while ago. I would guess that your body rotation through the ball is slow in comparison to your arm swing and you don't use the ground and your core to create and deliver the power through the ball. I guess your power is generated by your arms and shoulders which affects your consistency too.

Would need to see your swing to give you advice.

I was at The Belfry today on a coaching course, no golf played there today, got snowed on this morning.

Charlie, my link for the swing is below:

My Swing

I guess ur most likly correct alot of people say my lower body doesnt clear enuff and that im quite handsey through the ball. I really want to try and harness it and make things more consistant.

I'd love to visit the belfry, especialy for coaching! any comments that you could offer would be brilliant.

Thanks again for your responses

i cast the club badly and that if i could actually maintain the proper lag in my downswing id hit it further and crisper.

That's exactly the problem I suffer from and as a result I don't get anywhere near the yardages with my irons that I should.

Working with my pro on trying to maintain the lag and stop releasing the clubhead early, but I'm finding it difficult tbh and my divots are still pointing left.

I need to spend more time at the range and with my smashbag, but eager to hear any tips Charlie is handing out to help in this area.

Nice summary of your round btw and some good golf there despite the innacuracy off the tee.

What's your handicap goal this year?

Looks like the range at beamish that?

are u a member at beamish richy? Your very close! its the range at roseberry grange, i just stepped out of the matts onto the grass

[/QUOTE]
